Decomposition and Flammability of Polyimide Graphene Composites

Polyimide-graphene composites were synthesized by in-situ condensation polymerization and the thermal stability decomposition behavior of studied. Polyimides, because their aromatic backbone, are a class fire-retardant polymers. Their high char retention ≥50% at testing temperatures ≥600 °C makes them thermally stable The effect nanographene sheets on polyimide is presented in this paper. It shown that reinforcement with significantly decreased rate increased composite. Thermogravimetric analysis data used to assess stability, mass loss predicted limiting oxygen index neat composites. Results obtained showed around 43% decrease degradation 50 wt.% graphene loading. nanocomposite was calculated using retention, it found increase up 24% loading over for matrix.
